Why I belong!

Why I belong in this university is that I could never get a good education anywhere else. This place is my favorite town to come to every summer. This is a very good campus to live on it has nice clean buses, the dorms are cozy and it has lots of good people here. This place also has a great library by the lake that is good for quiet studies and finishing up on any assignments. This is a very fine school to enroll in.
Why I want to be in this college is that it is highly ranked in the country. I hope to be playing football for the badgers when I get out of high school. My family really loves the Wisconsin badgers and that I hope to be part of that same love from all the other Wisconsinites’. Being a Native American in a world filled with diversity makes it hard for me to fully enjoy a college life. I want to be the first child in my family to actually go to a high ranked university.
I belong in this university because my ancestors fought for my right to have an education and I don’t want their fight to have been in vain. I want to do my best to belong in this dog eat dog world as a Native American student. I belong here for one thing and one thing only it is to expand my knowledge as a people student and as a person also. I belong in this university so I can bring more knowledge back to my community and be a better person for my family and girlfriend. I belong here because everyone deserves a chance at expanding their mind to different things and surroundings.
I belong here on this good green planet because I was a survivor and no one can bring me down. When I was in my mothers womb I had a 45% chance at surviving because my mom was not suppose to have anymore children and that if she was going to the child would have most likely died at birth. But my mom held on to hope and I was born on April 8th 1993. My ma gave birth to me on Easter and there was no doctor there so my dad had to catch me when I was born and the nurse tried to tell my ma to hold on and not give birth until the doctor gets there.
So if anyone tells me that I don’t belong they can listen to this story and I can say that I belong because god didn’t decide to take me that day but he let live and that I am now stronger than I ever was. If anyone tries to take that away from me I don’t know what their problem is with me but I belong here and they will never stop what I can do. I belong here as a good little brother a good baseball player and as a loving boyfriend to my very beautiful girlfriend that I haven’t treated right this past week and I’m still sorry for what I did. I love her with all my heart and she loves me and I will never let her down like that again because if I don’t belong with her than I will never forgive myself.
So why I belong here is that I came here saw it and I believed that someday that I might be a student here and it would change my life for the better. I will treat this place like its my home and I will accept it like my home. This is the one university that everyone in my family has tried and failed to get into so I want to have that chance to do something great for my family and me. I belong here for this one opportunity to leave my parents and go off on my own to be more independent and stay away from the bad influences that show their ugly faces back home. I belong here for the one and only reason is because I can do it and no one can stop me from believing in myself. That is why I belong here and nowhere else.

This i believe

What I believe
Thursday June24,

What I believe in is that if you’re going through hell keep on going. My philosophy is that when you’re having a bad day just let the day pass by because the next day will always be a new beginning. I believe that when you have something good to do and have no time for it just do it because you might never have that opportunity again. When my uncle died I didn’t know what to do, he always had me outside with him doing stuff but when he died I never wanted to do that kind of stuff anymore.

But when the opportunity comes to do something that you can’t is the time for you to try it. My brother liked baseball and when my uncle died he started to play more ball with me. We just started by playing catch and then he signed me up for a little league team. When I started to play I didn’t know a thing about how to play baseball. They stuck me in the outfield and I never could catch a fly ball to save my life.

For a while I wanted to quit but my brother said uncle never quit when he played ball. And I thought of something after my brother said that I want to keep playing. So I kept playing through the good times and the bad. As I’m getting older I still think about what my brother said and that keeps me going as I play baseball. I believe in that even though something bad happens that changes your life even though it’s hard to change what happened in the past you can always look forward to the future.

My name is Nicholas maulson I love to play baseball I now play first base and right field. My older brother is named Dennis maulson he is still coaching me to play baseball and I love him like my father. I’m better at catching a fly ball and I’m hitting a .238 average for my team right now. So I’m grateful to have a family that love’s me and helps me through the bad times.
